Are you a movie buff? Have you ever wanted to walk the streets of Convent Garden, singing songs from My Fair Lady? Or go searching for places featured in the Harry Potter series? Why not do a little extra pre-planning and turn one of your “regular” holidays in the uk into a treasure hunt for the whole family?

There are any number of creative ways to set up a treasure hunt but the best is when there’s an air of both camaraderie and a little bit of friendly competition thrown in. Devise a series of clues for your teams to follow – along with a set of questions to answer, such as “How many steps lead up to St.Paul’s Cathedral?” Add spice to the hunt by requiring receipts from different forms of public transportation. Get creative, maybe a boat ride is required to successfully complete the mission? You can also require a photo taken in front of a specific landmark, or have the kids get silly by requiring them to wear a funny hat during the hunt. The sillier the better!

And the treasure hunt doesn’t need to be movie-themed, it could be based around music, theatre, sports, Italian art… whatever you choose. A travelling treasure hunt can be as simple or as complex as your heart desires – city-based, out in the country – it’s entirely up to you. So round up your friends and family, create a challenge that will knock their socks off, and turn one of their ho-hum holiday into something fun, educational, and spectacularly memorable. The sky’s the limit!

Have you ever watched a sail boat go by and wondered what it must be like to control a boat that way? Many people have that thought and some will then search for a class near them to learn how to said. If you search online, you will come across learn-to-sail holidays that take place in the UK, Greece and Turkey.

These businesses offer modern cruising yachts that give you all the creature comforts. These boats have grills, CD stereos and fridges so your adventure will be the best. Crew sizes can range from two to eight and each student will get a good mix of independent and social sailing on their own. Each sailing holiday last for four days and can take places in Brighton in the UK, Greek Ionian, Greek Peloponnese or the Bodrum Peninsula in Turkey.

After your class you might want to purchase your own boat and return to this area to continue your adventure on your own. Your personal boat can be delivered to this area by boat transporters who service just about every European country. Or maybe your will be moving closer to the sea and need your boat moved by professionals to your new location.

There are not many place on this earth where you can start on a slope of a volcano, travel through a desert to end up on an amazing coastline that offers a unique environment. And once the sun sets you will certainly be impressed by the choice of nightlife that is offered on this island called Tenerife. Tenerife is one of the seven islands of the Canary Islands which are often referred to and the islands of eternal spring weather. This statement is true as you can visit these islands at any time of the year and experience the same weather as six months ago. The winter time will offer cooler nights but these warm winters still draw most of the tourists between December to February. This is peak season for this part of the world. Holidays to Tenerife that take place between May and October will find cool sea breezes that are a welcome change from the scorching heat felt in mainland Spain.

Airfares are at their lowest from November to med December but during Easter, there is a carnival that lasts for two weeks that always draws a big crowd of tourists. Getting to this island is usually done by aircraft but can be made by boat also. In the late 1950s and into the early 1960s, it was the international flights the started the rapid growth of the tourist visitors. This continues today and is more true for the south than in the north. You can begin your travel plans with any of the big name travel sites found online today. Travelocity, Cheaptickets and Orbits are known by just about everyone now. But there are other smaller travel sites that have their own cheap fare and specials to offer you. Cheap Canaries holidays from OnTheBeach is just one you might want to check into.

This island is the only one that has two airports. The second was constructed in 1977 and named after the wife of the King of Spain, Reina Sofia airport. Today this airport is totally modern and takes most of the international air traffic. Friday is the busiest day for this airport and on that day there is approximately one arrival every six minutes. There are festivals and cultural events that you can find more information to online. Seems there is always something happening here which must be why so many people travel here each year.

We all dream about that perfect holiday. It is a dream that someone had at a certain time in their lives. For some, it includes palm trees, a light blue ocean and a white sandy beach. For others, it is a beautiful ski resort with an amazing view and awesome slopes. Others would probably prefer beautiful mountain ranges or an amazing forest where they can hike and practice the so called “nature sports”. And there are those with somewhat stranger tastes that go on holiday to experience the local cuisine, for wine tasting or for really specific activities like surfing, scuba diving and, I suppose, skiing and snowboarding would also have to be included in that package.

But whether you are carefully planning out your holidays to the extreme or you’re just entering the closest travel agent and getting a Cheap Cyprus holiday package that sounds good, you’ll certainly be feeling like you want to take control of your holiday. Unless you’re going on a cruise, there’s really a lot of planning that goes into turning your holiday into the perfect dream holiday. And why a cruise? Because the money you put into it, which is normally plenty, includes plenty of activities that they plan for you. But, like I was saying, there’s a lot of planning that goes into your holiday. There are some things that can help alleviate the load of all that planning. The most obvious one is getting advice from friends or family that have already been to wherever you’re planning on going. Another good idea for advice is to simply go online and try to read some comments from people that have been there.

Another excellent way to help you with your planning, and that also uses the internet, is to take advantage of the websites that offer help with booking your holidays. Websites like, for example, DealChecker, that offer a wide range of solutions for your holidays. Getting someone to do the work of booking and finding a good hotel and airplane deal really takes a load off your back and helps with the pressure. And seriously, you will want help with the pressure and the stress.

And as an added bonus, these websites don’t stop at just giving you a flight and a hotel. You can hire a car, get package holidays and travel insurance. Some of them even have a section for travel advice.

I have travelled extensively around the World, having worked in many places and many different companies and countries. And there’s never as much driving around as I would like there to be. I really enjoy driving, it’s something that I’d rather do for pleasure rather than for necessity, but it’s something that usually remains a pleasure for me even when I’m stuck in traffic on my way to work.

What I live to do is to rent a car from time to time and just have my fun. Having done this so many times, I’ve become somewhat of an expert in car hire companies and using their little quirks to your favor. For example, I can’t tell you just how many times being upgraded meant getting some extras also. I usually go for the mid-range car and that means that, if I get an upgrade, I’m given one of the premium cars. This is when I tell them I won’t feel safe driving such an expensive car and that maybe I’ll just go elsewhere. This usually cues them throwing some extra at me, be it a complementary GPS, a free tank of gas or full insurance coverage for the price of the normal insurance.

nything can happen at the airport. And if it can go wrong, it will go wrong. From a crying baby, to hours worth of delay, airports often leave us drained. If you’re looking for a break between flights, or have some time to kill while you handle a cancelation, there are plenty of accommodation options to suit you. For example, Heathrow Airport hotels are easily accessible from the terminal, which means no time wasted in commuting back to the airport. Layovers can be as little as an hour, or as long as a day. If you need some time to rest, an airport hotel will be exactly what you’ll need.

Delays or cancelations are most often caused by weather. Whether it be at the destination, or at your departure gate, unpredictable weather can ruin anyone’s trip. The only thing we can do is wait it out. If you’re away from home, this is particularly painful. No one wants to wait in the terminal, which means the only option is to check into a hotel. With hotels so close near to the airport, this isn’t an inconvenience. No matter the time you have to spare, a few hours of sleep in a comfy hotel room can make all the difference when you finally arrive at your destination.
